St Margaret’s opens up post school-run retreat for parents

St Margaret’s independent girls school in Bushey has opened the doors to a new coffee shop, The Barn

Designed to give parents and staff a warm and friendly environment to relax in and enjoy refreshments post school-run, The Barn is proving popular already.

The name chosen for the coffee shop is intended to reflect the history of the site itself, which had previously been a working farm. In line with this, the facility has been specially designed to mimic a modern rustic barn with a cosy woodland theme.

Serving “decadent” hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream, the shop also boasts an array of coffees, speciality teas, as well as homemade cakes and cookies.

Headmistress Rose Hardy explains: “We wanted to create a fun, welcoming space for our parents and staff, somewhere to shelter from the chilly mornings and enjoy a relaxing and social cuppa in friendly surroundings. Our hot chocolate is already proving extremely popular amongst customers!

“We also have free Wi-Fi available so it’s easy for parents to pop in and catch up with emails too. We are really looking forward to seeing more parents enjoying the new facilities over the coming months.”

The continued investment in the school’s environment and facilities follows the recent opening of St Margaret’s multi-adventure playground, which opened to pupils in September of last year.
