Re-educating the way you work, the USB Docking solutions from Philips are designed for the modern, multifunctional workplace. These innovative displays from MMD Philips have been brought about by the demand for increased production whilst still being user-friendly. Aiming to encourage reducing the time spent on smaller, mobile technology for long lengths of time by being able to plug tablets, notebooks etc. into larger displays, which in turn can create an easier way of working.
USB Docking for Education
Connect your laptop with a single USB cable to reduce hassle and get instant access to all the peripherals linked to the USB docking monitor or USB docking base. Messy cables and cluttered desks are a thing of the past – and there’s no set-up required!
One single cable connects your laptop to a large display and increases your productivity in the blink of an eye.
The USB docking solutions are available in two different options: USB docking monitor with a 21.5 or 23-inch display and USB docking stand to connect the Philips display you prefer.
• No additional docking station needed.
• USB docking stands can extend to a maximum of six displays for Windows, and four displays for a Mac system.
These productivity gains combine with the enhanced viewing experience of IPS technology. The extra-wide viewing angles of 178 degrees – horizontal and vertical – make it possible to view screen content easily from almost any perspective, even in 90-degree Pivot mode. With the brilliant, high-contrast image quality of Full HD, the display gives a sharper, clearer viewing experience for working and collaborating in the office or classroom – ideal for applications that demand colour accuracy and consistent brightness at all times.
Philips displays now also feature advanced technology such as flicker-free and SoftBlue (low-blue) light functions, so any time you do spend in front of the monitor you can be assured of reduced eye fatigue or eye-strain.
Wellbeing while Working
Flicker-free technology: Because of the way brightness is controlled on the LED-backlit screen some users experience flicker on the screen, which causes eye-fatigue. Our Flicker-free technology applies a new solution to regulate brightness and reduce flicker for more comfortable viewing without eye-fatigue.
SoftBlue technology: Studies show that blue light from LED displays can damage eyes and affect vision. But the more time we spend in front of screens we continually expose our eyes to potentially harmful rays. The new SoftBlue technology is proven to mitigate this risk. SoftBlue displays, on the other hand, mitigate the impact of blue-light exposure at its source: by eliminating blue light emissions at the potentially harmful wavelengths at the higher end of the shortwave spectrum, and shifting the wavelength peak from harmful 450 nm to 460 nm. This reduces the potentially detrimental blue light by over 90%, but without sacrificing the fidelity and quality of the original colour. It is also certified by international testing organizations SGS Labs and TÜV Rheinland to reduce blue light and protect eyes.
Wellbeing for the Environment
PowerSensor technology: The USB Docking displays also feature Philips PowerSensor enabling the display to save energy costs of up to 80% by registering whether a user sits in front of the monitor. When the user is absent, the display’s brightness is immediately reduced. This smart technology is a built-in ‘people-sensor’ located at the front of the monitor. The instant the user is back, the monitor wakes up again, so every meeting, coffee break, trip to the printer, or chat with another student gives you an opportunity to reduce your carbon footprint and operating costs.
