In this issue, our special report features a selection of independent schools who are doing just that, as on page 15-18 there is evidence of pupils actively taking care of their environment. It is a fantastic read and really highlights that independent schools are at the forefront of a green revolution. Taking things indoors, we have some brilliant insight about creating memorable assemblies on page 11-13 and Gregg Davies, Headmaster of Shiplake College, explains why he has banned mobile phones in the college on page 43.

Finally, Richard Cairns, Headmaster at Brighton College, writes about his decision to remove uniform gender labels on page 49. This is part of our uniform special and it is an excellent example of how independent schools are determined to put their pupils’ welfare first.
