With a capacity crowd at Glasgow National Hockey Centre cheering the teams, a fantastic atmosphere was created in the first of the night time events for youth competitions.
Douglas Academy took the lead in the 23rd minute but Brodie Good levelled for Loretto only four minutes later. Loretto School then took the lead shortly after, with Finlay McCreath scoring from a penalty corner in the 30th minute.
Ten minutes later, Loretto finished off the scoring with McCreath getting a second to make the final score 3-1.
Jonathan Hewat, director of external affairs at Loretto School, commented: “The game was played in a superb spirit. Both teams were a credit to their schools. Loretto School’s win was a genuine team effort.”
