Slindon College were delighted to welcome two new residents to their animal kingdom this week. Thirteen week old weaner piglets, Margot (a British All-Black) and Barbara (a Berkshire) joined the existing animal community of ducks, chickens, donkeys and alpacas and will help to extend the pupils’ knowledge and hands-on practice in their Land Based Studies.
Maureen Sargeant, Head of Horticulture & Land Based Studies said “we are delighted to welcome Margot and Barbara to the school – it is such a bonus being able to work with live animals rather than just facts and figures, in the lovely rural setting we enjoy. Our students gain a great deal from the experience.”
