Hornsby House School junior gymnasts progress to finals

Co-educational day school Hornsby House in Wandsworth has taken the London regional title in a national gymnastics competition

The mixed gymnastics team from Hornsby House School won the under-11 British Schools Gymnastics Association (BSGA) London regional title for floor and vault. The competition was hosted by The Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton, Middlesex on 24 January.

The Hornsby House team will now progress to the national finals, which take place in Stoke-on-Trent in May. The team hope to repeat their 2014 success and retain the national BSGA floor and vault title.

Headmaster Edward Rees said: “I accompanied the children to the competition and I was so pleased to see them perform. Their enjoyment was obvious and the standard impressive – they were a credit to the school. Gymnastics has become very popular at Hornsby House in recent years and it is an extremely valuable addition to the activities we offer.”
