Pitsford School’s brand new £2 million sports centre will be officially opened by Colin Jackson, World Champion Athlete, on 29 April. Colin Jackson is an Olympic Silver Medalist, double World Champion, World Record Holder, 110-metre hurdler and star of Strictly Come Dancing.
Large enough to hold four full-sized badminton courts, a fully-equipped cardiovascular fitness suite, café area and changing facilities, the centre will also offer a wide choice of sports facilities including volleyball, badminton and five-a-side football. The centre has panoramic views across the school’s 26 acres of parkland and sports fields.
To celebrate the grand opening, Pitsford School will be holding a 24-hour ‘Cyclothon’ with pupils competing against members of staff, as well as hosting a Senior School Mini Olympics raising funds for Sports Relief.
This is the second major building project that Pitsford School has undertaken in the last five years as, in 2012, a multi-million-pound junior school building was completed.
